🍂 Our Autumn Learning Tools & Fun Activities Selection
As a homeschooling mom, I’m always on the lookout for creative, hands-on activities and tools that make learning more engaging, fun, and meaningful. Over the years, we’ve built up a little collection of resources that my kids absolutely love, and I thought I’d share them here in case you’re looking for inspiration for your own homeschool journey. Although the picture shows a lot more, I will be going through all we have, but the below is a good selection to start 🙂 (you can spot most of them in my shelf though ;))
🌟 New Autumn Offer – Crafitosity Crafts Box
I absolutely love Crafitosity because it brings creativity right to our table in such a fun and engaging way. It’s the kind of gift that kids can dive into on their own when they want some independent play, but it’s also perfect for those cosy family moments when everyone gets involved. The kits spark imagination, build confidence, and always leave us with something beautiful (and sometimes hilarious!) to show for it. For me, it’s not just a present — it’s an experience that keeps on giving, making it one of the best gifts you can share with children.
So if your kids like mine love crafting, seasonal activities, and creative projects, this is one not to miss! Crafitosity has a brand-new offer: 15% off for Autumn when you use this exclusive link: Autumn Craft At Your Door!
Their craft boxes come packed with everything you need to get started on fun projects, and they’re perfect for homeschooling families who want to tie learning into hands-on creativity.
🗺️ What We Already Have & Love
🌍 World Board Game
The World Game has been such a hit in our home because it makes geography fun and interactive. The kids learn about different countries, cultures, and landmarks while playing together — it’s learning disguised as play. I love that it sparks curiosity about the wider world and encourages us to have great conversations around the table. It’s one of those games that feels just as educational as it is entertaining.
💎 Self-Growing Crystals Starter Kit
The Self-Growing Crystals Starter Kit is pure magic for little scientists! Watching the crystals form over time is such an exciting process and teaches patience, observation, and the basics of chemistry in the most hands-on way. My kids get so proud showing off the crystals they “grew” themselves. It’s a project that combines science with wonder — and I secretly love joining in too. (I actually bought 2 of them :))
📚 Books We Treasure
📚 Eddie Lenihan Tales
We absolutely treasure the Eddie Lenihan Tales books. His stories bring Irish folklore and traditions to life, and I feel like it connects the kids to our heritage in such a special way. The mix of mystery, humor, and a touch of magic keeps them hooked every time. They’re the kind of stories that stay with you long after you’ve closed the book.
📖 Shane Hegarty Books
Shane Hegarty’s books are pure fun — adventurous, witty, and full of imagination. My kids get completely absorbed in his stories, often laughing out loud at the characters and their antics. It’s the kind of writing that makes them fall in love with reading without even realizing it. For me, that’s priceless — books that feel like friends.
💬 Lucky Luke Comics
The Lucky Luke Comics are a classic in our house. The humor, quick wit, and adventurous spirit make them irresistible, and they’re such a nice way to break up more “serious” reading with something lighthearted. My kids love the comic-strip style, and I love that they’re still practicing reading while having a good laugh. It’s entertainment and literacy all in one.
🛒 In My Shopping Basket (Next on Our List)
🌦️ Weather and Climate Lab
The Weather and Climate Lab is next on our list and I cannot wait to dive into it with the kids. Learning about weather patterns, climate change, and how the world around us works feels so timely and important. It’s hands-on science at its best — and I know it will tie in perfectly with our seasonal learning themes.
➕ Maths Puzzles
I’ve also added these Maths Puzzles to our basket because I love finding playful ways to build skills. Maths doesn’t have to feel like a chore — and with puzzles, it becomes a challenge the kids actually look forward to. It’s all about turning numbers into fun problem-solving adventures, and I know this will give us plenty of “aha!” moments together.
🍂 Why These Tools Matter for Homeschooling
For me, homeschooling is all about keeping learning alive, joyful, and connected to the real world. That means mixing books, games, science kits, crafts, and hands-on exploration so that no two weeks ever feel the same. You don’t have to break the bank for those but to me having something physical that is ours is important, I have 3 kids and they can easily pass it on to each other. I also used to collect comic books and reading books when I was younger (I still have all of those) it just made me so happy and the thrill waiting for the next book kicks in, I just love it. Mind you I also love the library but it’s just not my books. My collection will be passed on generation I hope, and I do hope the books will be taken care of (they look brand new although are more than 20 years old! Picture that (I am so proud of them haha)
For a more serious point, the tools above aren’t about ticking boxes or sticking rigidly to a curriculum — they’re about sparking curiosity, building confidence, and showing kids that learning can be every bit as exciting as play.
If you’re planning your own autumn homeschool activities, I hope this list gives you some fresh ideas. And if you have a favourite resource or tool your kids love, I’d be delighted to hear about it in the comments!
As usual, way to go fellow homeschoolers, we are doing a great job!
