Our Fall Homeschool Style

Introducing Our Fall Homeschool Style, What Is Yours?

Finding Our Fall Homeschool Style: Monthly Seasonal Themes + Fun Fall Learning in County Cavan

Lately, I’ve been researching lots of homeschooling styles—browsing curriculums, Facebook groups, blogs, online courses, and Pinterest boards for inspiration. After much thought, my family decided on something flexible and fun: monthly, theme-based learning!

Starting in September, we’ll immerse ourselves in a “fall traditions” theme—perfect for our Irish home in County Cavan —and I can’t wait to share what’s coming up.

Why We Chose Monthly Themes

  • It keeps learning engaging and fresh, not overwhelming.
  • It allows us to connect real life to learning—seasons, local culture, and creativity.
  • It gives our days structure yet remains adaptable to our energy and routine.

Blending Learning with Nature & Creativity

In between event days, we’ll head to local forests to:

  • Capture the changing landscape through photography of trees and foliage.
  • Collect leaves, acorns, and other natural treasures for seasonal art projects.
  • Observe the shift in light and atmosphere as summer turns to fall.

Plus, we have a big trip planned to The Burren—known for its dramatic limestone landscapes—where we’ll dive into nature and geology learning on the road. I’ll keep you posted along the way!
