Transitioning to Clean Beauty As A Lifestyle Choice
Transitioning to Clean Beauty: My Natural Skincare Journey
When I began shifting to a cleaner lifestyle, one of the first areas I tackled was my beauty routine. I was overwhelmed by how many products I owned—and even more so by the long list of ingredients I couldn’t pronounce. So I decided to simplify, strip things back, and commit to a natural beauty routine that’s healthier for my skin and more aligned with my clean living values. Remember: clean beauty is a lifestyle choice!
Why I Chose Clean Beauty
Clean beauty isn’t just a trend—it’s a lifestyle choice. By switching to natural, non-toxic products, I’ve noticed fewer breakouts, reduced skin sensitivity, and a clearer, more radiant complexion.
Plus, it feels good knowing I’m supporting eco-conscious brands that are kind to both my body and the planet.
My Simple Clean Daily Routine
I keep things minimal yet effective. Here’s a look at what I use each day:
- Gentle oil cleanser – if I use make up (but I rarely do to be honest, mostly because I don’t think it suits my skin but also because it is hard for me to find any good make up product) like jojoba oil or a DIY herbal-infused blend
- Hydrosol toner – rose or chamomile are my favorites
- Plant-based serum – such as vitamin C from a clean brand
- Moisturizer – either shea butter or a clean, fragrance-free option
This approach not only simplifies my day but supports a low-waste lifestyle.
Favorite DIY Natural Skincare Recipes
Some of my go-to homemade recipes include:
- Honey and turmeric face mask – gentle brightening, however be careful the turmeric can leave a yellow ish film on your skin! (I found a turmeric based mask that doesn’t do that and is just 90c, stick with me for the reveal ;))
- Aloe vera + green tea toner – calming for redness (this one is a bit tricky to make but the results are fab!)
- Sugar + coconut oil scrub – natural exfoliant (so easy to make and most of the time these products are already in our cupboard, I use brown sugar but it really is up to you ie how gentle you want the scrub to feel on your skin)

Clean Beauty = Mindful Living
My simplified routine has saved me time, reduced waste, and made me feel more connected to my body. Clean beauty is more than skin-deep—it’s about making conscious choices that support your health and well-being.
